The Fascinating World of Lomos
About 1998 I began taking lomos. Lomos are photographs with a special camera - a Lomo.
Taking photos with a Lomo is quite different from taking photos with other cameras. E.g. you don't use the viewfinder. So you don't actually know what your results will be before having your prints in your hands. Lomos are snapshots. For me lomos are more than pictures. When looking at such a snapshot I sometimes recognize things I didn't notice before. For me, lomos often have more 'life' than other photos.
Taking a lomo should not interrupt your current action. It should be within your current action. That means that you shall not concentrate on the picture, but concentrate on what you are doing. Your feelings, actions...
When you have enough lomos you try to put them together. Many, many close to each other so that the arrangement of the colors, shapes,... forms a new picture. I like that pretty much. It's interesting what you can create out of many single lomos when putting them together...
On the following pages I have put online some of my lomos as lomowalls. Some of them just look great for me, some of them represent special feelings for me, some of them 'just have to be shown' :-).
You can also view my lomos sorted by date if you want to.
you're here: lomo.
